As an Azure Cloud Architect at Gluo, you will design and guide the implementation of enterprise‑grade Azure platforms. You will define hub‑and‑spoke network architectures, landing zones, governance, and security controls; shape deployment and connectivity patterns; and ensure reliability and cost efficiency from day one. You make architectural decisions with confidence and communicate them clearly to both engineers and stakeholders.

Beyond architecture, you collaborate closely with platform engineers, security, networking, and application teams. You lead workshops, create reference architectures, and document patterns so teams can build safely and consistently. You embrace automation and “everything as code” to keep platforms maintainable and auditable.

Requirements

• Proven experience architecting Azure platforms in production across multiple subscriptions and environments
• Expert knowledge of the Azure hub‑and‑spoke model, including design and implementation at scale (addressing spokes, shared services, routing, egress/ingress, and segmentation)
• Hands‑on experience with landing zones and Azure governance (management groups, RBAC, PIM, policies, subscription design, and guardrails)
• Strong grasp of Azure networking patterns (VNets, peering, Private Endpoints, Private DNS, route tables/UDRs, Azure Firewall/NVA, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute; awareness of Virtual WAN where appropriate)
• Solid understanding of security and compliance on Azure (identity with Entra ID, least privilege, policy enforcement, Defender for Cloud; threat detection and logging considerations)
• Reliability and continuity design (availability zones, backup/restore, disaster recovery patterns, change management)
• Comfortable with infrastructure as code and automation principles for Azure (e.g., Bicep/Terraform) and CI/CD for platform changes
• Ability to run architecture workshops, produce clear diagrams and decision records, and guide platform and application teams through adoption
• Strong communication skills in English (French or dutch is a plus)
• A background in software development is considered a strong plus, especially for enabling platform patterns and reviewing implementations.
